Innovation: Find out the Solarkiosk targeting Africa since july 2012

The Solarkiosk is powered by solar panels which are integrated into the roof structure of the kiosk. The kiosk also includes a battery that can store access energy to run the kiosk at night or during a stretch of bad weather. The kiosk can host a variety of devices, like refrigerators (which can keep medications cool), charging docks (for cell phones, LED lamps and LED flashlights for example), computers, even a TV so that community can watch a football match at night.

According to the author‘’the basic idea is that we as a company enter into a long-term business relationship with the local managers of the kiosks — the operators. We want to enable them to run a successful business based on energy in areas where previously there was neither much business nor energy. We believe that this long-term relationship will allow us to bring solar energy into areas where previous efforts to do so were not always successful, because we not only bring the solar products and other hardware, but we can provide support and training as well’’.
