Adobe Reader Mobile SDK for BlackBerry 10: Opportunities for developers and readers
The preparations on the upcoming of BlackBerry®
10 are still going on. Therefore, since October 23, 2012, Adobe® DRM for EPUB
(Digital Rights Management for eBooks) is supported on BlackBerry® PlayBook™
tablets and upcoming BlackBerry® 10 Smartphones.
In fact, Adobe® Reader Mobile SDK is a
software development kit (SDK) enabling mobile device and software developers
to embed PDF and eBook support into their products. Therefore this ecosystem is
used worldwide by thousands of publishers, libraries and content providers
selling and lending millions of eBooks.
The Adobe Reader Mobile SDK is Adobe’s EPUB and PDF rendering technology for eBook apps and
devices. It aims to power hundreds of apps and devices which act as the front
end of Adobe’s end-to-end eBook ecosystem.
Then as from now, third party companies
can build eReaders that view DRM-encoded content. Developers can write apps for
BlackBerry 10 and the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet that can easily download, manage, and display PDF content and
eBooks.
