Google Code-in 2012 : An Opportunity to learn about open source development
For those unfamiliar Google
Code-in is a program meant to pre-university students (13-17 years old).During
each session, They learn and create open source software and can win prizes
along the way. Challenges include documentation, marketing outreach, software
coding, user experience research etc. Regarding the 2012 edition, as of November 26, and for 50 days, participants
will work online the tasks for 10 different open source organizations.
During the session, participants
earn points for each task they successfully complete and can earn mini prizes. What
is special this year is that: the number of grand prize winners to 20 talented
students is doubled.

is well to review Google Frequently Asked Questions and the contest rules .You can also check out some sample tasks from last year’s contest.
You
can register for your account on the program site when
the contest opens on Monday, November 26 at 9:00am PST.
