Youtube Custom Brand Channels: Stakes and Opportunities on Gadget Developer Guideline

Updated since October 16, 2012, a Custom Brand Channel for those unfamiliar aims to provide additional functionality and branding for a YouTube Channel. Therefore with a custom gadget, developers can design custom web applications to display web-based content or video related to your brand. Once approved by YouTube, a gadget can be embedded in an iframe on the Channel’s custom tab.

Custom gadget sizes supported by Youtube include:

• A 970px wide gadget encompasses the entire tab below the channel bar. Height is flexible.
• A 640px wide gadget meant to appear in the center column below the channel bar leaving the right hand side in the “Featured” and “Feed” tabs. Height is flexible.
• A full-width (100%), mobile gadget can appear within m.youtube.com on high-end Android and iOS devices, with exact height specified by the developer.
