New MariaDB Client Library for C and for Java Applications to MySQL: New Opportunities for Developers.

As part of the MariaDB open source project ,developers or users have henceforth the access to the code of MySQL® database  via the permissive LGPL license.
In fact since November 29, 2012 SkySQL & Monty Program have announced the availability of the MariaDB Client Library for C and MariaDB Client Library for Java Applications.
With this announcement, henceforth the connectors have embedded the wider MariaDB open source project, to which users will be able to contribute via relevant online resources. has mentioned the release.  
The announcement concerns users involved with applications built in C or Java language that also make use of a MariaDB and/or MySQL database. The release of these connectors ensures that the applications & the databases can talk to each other.
these connectors enable users to connect from a given application to a database, in this case the
MySQL & MariaDB databases.
