VMware Most Recent Technology Innovations and Announcements with Dell: Stakes and Opportunities
Since December 11, 2012,
we have learnt from Sandra Bruce, VMware Global Alliances Director, Dell, that:
VMware is very excited to be back at Dell
World in 2012 as a
Silver sponsor. She explains that:
‘’Dell and VMware’s decade long partnership has resulted in unique, integrated product and
service solutions that help our customers to simplify their IT environments,
all while effectively building a virtualized foundation for meeting the IT
demands of today and tomorrow.’’
We also learnt that since
Dell launched those OEM offerings with VMware View 4 back in 2009, the both
companies have worked together to build a comprehensive portfolio of joint
solutions, targeting specific verticals as well as horizontal solutions.
Here are some examples of
these offerings :
Dell DVS Mobile Clinical Computing: based on VMware View, enables clinicians and doctors
to securely access applications and data anywhere from nearly any device.
Dell Mobile Clinical Computing - VMware AlwaysOn Point
of Care: provides
data integrity as well as minimal disruption in computing service to the
caregiver, including: constant monitoring, secure rapid access, single sign on
and constant data replication across sites.
Dell Virtual Labs : aims to substantially
simplify the deployment and management of computer lab services and gives
students access to applications and data from any device, anywhere.
Dell DVS for Government with VMware View :helps government agencies
support alternate devices, increasing data access from different locations,
mobility and telecommuting without compromising security. This end to end
solution aims to provide secure access to information anywhere in the world and
IT can manage desktops operations that require a powerful IT backbone.
Dell DVS Enterprise – VMware Mobile Secure Desktop
reference architecture: promotes flexible and BYOD working styles by delivering session
persistence and mobility across any qualified device to access personal
desktops.
And horizontal solutions
including Dell’s DVS Enterprise stacks, based on thousands of hours of lab
validation of VMware View on Dell infrastructure, are delivered as pre-racked
infrastructure offerings, for more or less rapid deployment and expandability
of virtual desktop infrastructure.
