Chakra Linux 2013.02 code-named "Benz" available: a code name that will follow the KDE 4.10 series.

Following the dream of Chakra-Project founder Jan Mette three year ago now to have Chakra continue as an independent distribution, henceforth his dream is real.
In fact the latest release of Chakra Linux brings the recently released KDE 4.10 to the users of the Arch Linux based distribution. Chakra Linux 2013.02, code-named
"Benz", therefore includes updates to the distribution's own tools such as its installation assistant and its theme. Henceforth the distribution can be installed, provides a modern Linux desktop and still based on Arch Linux.
We also discover that the KDE update in "Benz" introduces improvements to the semantic desktop search engine Nepomuk. In addition other changes include a move from MySQL to MariaDB in the default package selection. Linux kernel 3.7.6 includes a workaround to prevent damage for a range of Samsung laptops.  (A potentially fatal bug in UEFI firmware.)
GFXboot offers more options for languages and keyboard layouts and finally as an office suite, Chakra includes Calligra 2.6; LibreOffice 3.6.5 is available from the distribution's repositories. Firefox 18.0.2 and Chromium 24.0.1312.68 can be installed manually. Package installation is handled by the command line tool pacman.
Chakra 2013.02 "Benz" is now available as a DVD image for 32- and 64-bit systems from the project's web site.
