HP new all-in-one PC running Ubuntu henceforth available at just £349.
HP’s Ubuntu initiative formally announced at last October’s Ubuntu
Developer Summit
by Canonical’s VP of Sales and Business Development, Chris Kenyon, comes
true. In fact March 4, 2013 marks the launching of a brand new all-in-one PC running Ubuntu.
Called the Pavilion 20, it is
the first european release of Ubuntu-powered HP hardware. It includes:
·
AMD E1-1200 APU @ 1.4Ghz
(Dual Core)
·
Integrated AMD Radeon HD
7310 Graphics
·
4GB DDR3 RAM (Max 8GB)
·
500GB HDD 7200RPM
·
20″ HD+ widescreen WLED
(1600 x 900)
·
Slim-tray CD/DVD Writer
·
4 x USB 2; 2 x USB 3; a 6-in-1 card reader;
·
a combo headphone/microphone jack,
·
ethernet port.
·
WiFi, Webcam and speakers.
With 2 year of warranty, we
also noted that in terms of raw performance, the E1-1200 could be comparable to
the more recent of Intel’s Atom CPU offerings, while the integrated graphics
are best likened to that of NVidia’s integrated Ion solution.
However one problem with all-in-one
is screen angle.
