The openSUSE 12.3 RC2 is henceforth available to download.
Since February 28, 2013 pending the final release the openSUSE Team has published RC2.
This release means that a
large number of bugs has been fixed and a number of packages updated. However major
changes include PulseAudio, the kernel and Firefox.
We also discover that it aims to be easy to install openSUSE
12.3 on a UEFI
machine without problems. The openSUSE 12.3 RC2 can boot with Secure Boot
enabled in our UEFI firmware.
Now as of openSUSE 12.3, the team
has changed the structure of the Live GNOME and KDE media. This means that live
images are now designed to be written to, booted and installed from a USB. The Live images henceforth include:
- the entire LibreOffice 3.6 stack
- GIMP!
- the openJDK java environment
- delectable set of system recovery and backup tools,
- rhythmbox has replaced banshee as the default audio player on the GNOME Live image.
