Amarok 2.7.0 (Music Player) henceforth available for Windows to download.

Since April 26, 2013, we have the opportunity to discover, what is new in this new release.  In fact, this new Windows build of Amarok2.7.0 brings great performance on XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
However there are a few limitations in a Windows build. This means some features from the Linux version are not available:
  • the Nepomuk Collection plug-in is not available
  • no CD playback support
  • the features requiring Gstreamer (Equalizer, Moodbar) are not available as this version uses the VLC backend
  • no ffmpeg on that build, no transcoding either

For those who unfamiliar, Amarok is a cross-platform free and open source music player. Amarok is part of the KDE but released independently of the central KDE Software Compilation release cycle.
