App Camp for Girls: gender imbalance among software developers targeted, this summer in Portland, Oregon.

Obviously , we find fewer women that men involved in the software or ICT industry. There are several elements which could
explain this imbalance: cultural effects, lack of motivation, lack of resources, lack of inspiring mentors or programs and so on.

Jean MacDonald's, founder of App4Girl, wants to tackle this issue via a non-profit program. The stake: give girls the chance to learn how to build apps, to be inspired by women instructors, and to get exposure to software development as a career.

Their goal: grow their non-profit organization into a national force (USA), with programs in multiple cities, helping thousands of girls.
