Thermax Limited has chosen IBM SmartCloud and PureSystems: stakes and opportunities

In its dynamic to improve its services, IT infrastructure and enable its clients to operate at reduced cost and with greater safety, energy
efficiency, reliability and flexibility, Thermax Limited has chosen IBM SmartCloud and PureSystems .
"With the new IBM solution, our employees can access the IT infrastructure anytime, anywhere, which allows them to provision new environments for our customers rapidly and at low incremental cost. It also speeds up and improves enormously the decision-making process." "IBM PureFlex makes it easy to manage key data centrally, enhancing the security and control of our operations. At the moment the solution is being rolled out to 1,000 users at Thermax's manufacturing facilities in Pune and Baroda and the power consumption has already decreased dramatically - by close 70-80 percent." said Anil Nadkarni, CIO of Thermax.
The implementation of IBM's SmartCloud on IBM PureSystems technology and Citrix XenApp server aim to make Thermax's IT infrastructure more efficient, secure and continuously available.
“The technology enables a resilient, high-performance cloud platform for Thermax’s key applications and enables their employees to serve growing number of smaller clients." Said Rahul Bindal, Country Leader - PureSystems, Systems & Technology Group, IBM India South Asia.
For those who unfamiliar, the IBM PureSystems family offers clients an alternative to current enterprise computing models, where multiple and disparate systems require significant resources to set up and maintain. The PureFlex System enables organizations to more efficiently create and manage an infrastructure. PureApplication Systems help organizations reduce the cost and complexity of rapidly deploying and managing applications. PureData Systems are tuned for cloud computing and can consolidate more than 100 databases on a single system. In addition to the common web application patterns supported by PureApplication System, the combination of both PureData and PureApplication Systems can be used for end to end transaction workloads.
