Video Quality within WebRTC: Vidyo and Google found an agreement.

With WebRTC, Google has two great priorities: optimizes Google+ Hangouts as a better place to do videoconferences and consolidate Chrome as the first browser to support the scalable version of WebRTC. In this dynamic, Google continues its relationship with Vidyo, with the final goal to enhance the video quality within WebRTC.

Under the agreement, Vidyo will develop a scalable video
extension for the VP9 codec as part of the WebRTC client open source project.

Connectikpeople may recall that, pioneered by Vidyo, SVC is recognized as the way to deliver a great video conferencing experience over the Internet. This means, SVC enables better error resilience and allows an optimized experience for multi-user video calls.

Regarding WebRTC, it provides the ability to participate in video calls without separate client or plug-in installation.
