Today we has
discovered that, Los Angeles-based YouTube network Maker Studios has raised $26 million from investors SingTel Innov8, Lakestar, Northgate
Capital, Astro,
and Canal+, closing out its series C round now totaled at $61 million. This
capital will serve to help grow its business overseas, adding offices in Europe
and Asia. Connectikpeople has observed that, half of its existing viewers are
outside the U.S.

Salsify (Boston-based product content
management software) has raised an $8 million series A round from North Bridge
Venture Partners
and Matrix
Partners. Salsify
was founded by three veterans of enterprise search provider Endeca, acquired by Oracle in 2011. The capital will use to develop their new
software-as-a-service approach to managing product content on e-commerce sites.
Matterport (Mountain View-based developer of
rapid 3D scanning solutions) has raised $2.8 million in a second series A
funding from investors Blake
Krikorian of Sling Media and Gordon Segal, founder of Crate &
Barrel. Existing
investors include Lux Capital, Greylock
Partners, and Felicis Ventures. Founded in 2010, Matterport uses a 3D camera and
cloud-based software system to create 3D digital models of physical spaces for
designers, architects, and inspectors.
Regarding Boulder, (Colorado-based
marketing platform TapInfluence), it has raised
$5 million in series B funding from existing investor Grotech Ventures and new investor Access Venture Partners. Access' Kirk Holland will join the TapInfluence board of directors. Launched in 2009,
TapInfluence connects marketers with bloggers and other online influencers, and
has raised a total of $8.2 million.
Now, Songza (Mood-based
music streaming service), headquartered in New York, has raised a $4.7 million
funding round from a variety of investors including Amazon, William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Lerer Ventures, Deep Fork Capital, Metamorphic Ventures, and more. The funding will serve to scale its sales team and developing
its native advertising.
AppDirect (San Francisco-based cloud service marketplace)
has raised $9 million in
series B funding led by iNovia Capital. The company also announced the purchase of Standing Cloud, a Boulder, Colorado-based cloud application management platform. Founded
in 2009, AppDirect has raised a total of $20.8 million to date.
