Launched 6 months ago by Tomaž Štolfa and Ron Palmeri, Layer has announced a seed funding of $1.5 million from investors including CrunchFund, Bloomberg Beta, SV Angel, Data Collective, Promus Ventures, Anthem Venture Partners, and Pacific Partners. For those who unfamiliar, Connectikpeople may recall that, Layer is the
open communications layer for the Internet, enabling the power of messaging,
voice, and video calling in any mobile or web product.
Insightly, based in San
Francisco, is online customer relationship and project management system, founded
in 2009has raised $10 million in
series B funding for its CRM service that
integrates with Gmail, Outlook, Office 365, and others. The round was led by Matt Holleran, founder and managing director of Cloud Apps Management, with
participation from Emergence Capital Partners, Sozo Ventures, and TrueBridge Capital Partners. The company
serves more than 184,000 customers in 100 countries, and has raised a total of
$13 million
Finally, Jawbone, maker of the Up fitness-tracking wristband and JAMBOX, the first
intelligent wireless speaker, has raised $20 million in equity funding from
existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, Khosla Ventures and Sequoia Capital.
Connectikpeople may recall
that, Jawbone has simultaneously raised an additional $93 million in debt
financing, bringing the company's total capital raised to over $240 million.
