Toshiba: Top 3 announcements of the day.

Overall, the day, next to Toshiba was enriching. From the launch of Microcontrollers Realizing Highly Accurate Mechanical Control via the launch of 3-Phase Brushless Sensorless Motor Pre-Driver IC for Automotive Applications to the unveiling of
Unipolar Stepping Motor Driver IC, the cadence was sustained.
First, we can discover that, Toshiba has announced that it will launch new ARM Cortex™-M3-core-based TX03 series microcontrollers, “TMPM343F10XBG”, “TMPM343FEXBG” and “TMPM343FDXBG”, which realize highly accurate mechanical control.
Pending the shipments as from November 2013, Connectikpeople has observed that, the new microcontrollers integrate Toshiba’s original coprocessor, the “PSC”2, motor driver units that can directly connect to and control motor drives, and amplifier circuits to control sensors. According to Toshiba, this enables highly accurate, simultaneous control of multiple mechanisms by a single microcontroller and also contributes to materials and PCB size reductions.
Applications include: Attitude control of radio-controlled air planes and robots; motion sensory control for video games; and applications in servo controls, such as encoding of industrial servo motors

Secondly, Toshiba launched 3-Phase Brushless Sensorless Motor Pre-Driver IC for Automotive Applications. Sample shipments will start in October, with mass production scheduled to start in March, 2014. Connectikpeople has observed that, the new IC incorporates Toshiba’s original brushless motor drive control circuit that can control motors without using heat-sensitive hole sensors, securing control of pumps in a very hot environment. The product also contributes to materials and cost reductions.

Finally, Toshiba announced the launch of the “TB67S14x” constant current control motor driver series for unipolar stepping motors. The three motor drivers in the series aim to realize a monolithic structure and small package by using the industry’s leading 80V analog process.
Applications include: Amusement machines; home appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioners, industrial equipment including banking terminals; and office automation equipment.
Evaluation sample shipments are scheduled to start from December 2013.
