Today, Siemens Smart Grid announced Demand Response Management Software (DRMS) 2.5.
Following the previous release in October 2012, Today, Connectikpeople has
received Demand Response Management Software (DRMS) 2.5, the latest advancement
in its demand response solution.
The new software brings an unparalleled number of ways to create rule based
aggregations that can pinpoint localized grid stress within the utility’s
territory while optimizing the dispatch of consumer loads. According to
Siemens
Smart Grid, this offers utilities more streamlined operations and reduced
maintenance costs while promoting customer retention.
Connectikpeople has also observed that, the technology:
·
Expands upon DRMS 2.0’s
ability to isolate and target demand reductions via substation, feeder, zip
code or geographical location.
·
The software allows a utility
to create and manage demand response programs for both emergency and economic
dispatch, manage enrollment, as well as provide for full event management,
notification, load forecasting, and analytics.
·
DRMS 2.5 has been designed to
allow different types of utilities and third party demand response providers to
extract value from the application.
·
The software now has the
ability to help balance intermittent renewable energy resources, generate
additional revenue streams, and also assist in meeting specific state and
federal regulatory constraints.
Siemens will be highlighting this and other grid solutions for smarter and
more efficient energy supply systems at the European Utility Week, taking place
October 15th-17th in Amsterdam.

About Siemens Smart Grid Division
The Siemens Smart Grid Division supplies products and solutions for
intelligent and flexible electrical network infrastructures. To meet growing
energy needs, the networks of today and tomorrow must integrate all forms of
power generation and ensure bi-directional energy and communication flows.
Intelligent networks help make it possible to generate and use power
efficiently and on demand. They contribute to the electrification of railroads
and also supply industrial enterprises, infrastructure elements and entire
cities with electricity.
