ITT Corporation bolsters its partnership with Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA).
The stake here is to provide funding for an energy infrastructure project
in Mekelle, Ethiopia.
In fact in this project, ITT’s contribution will help to improve the
electrical infrastructure at the Mekelle School for the Blind. This means, the redesigned
system will better distribute the school’s limited power supply and will
correct safety concerns associated with inadequate wiring and
aging circuit
breakers.
Connectikpeople can observe that, the renovation, which is being led by
students and faculty at the EWB-USA Washington University chapter, also
includes the installment of an outdoor lighting system, improving safety on
campus.
For those who unfamiliar, EWB-USA is a non-profit humanitarian organization
established to support community-driven development programs worldwide through
partnerships that design and implement sustainable engineering projects. The
organization has more than 13,500 volunteer members, including students and
professionals, and is engineering change in more than 45 developing countries
through more than 450 projects. EWB-USA also provides its members with
innovative and transformative education opportunities through development

planned for January 2014.
