Startups fundings: Kidaptive, TinyCo and BrightTag can now accelerate development of new feature and their international expansion.
As usual, Connectikpeople recalls
that, fundraising is
often needed to scale the company and generate exponential growth.
In this case, Kidaptive ( founded in 2012, Palo Alto-based educational app maker ), has
raised $10.1 million in a Series B round led by Formation 8 with participation from A round lead Menlo Ventures, Stanford's StartX Fund, NewSchools
Venture Fund, and Prana Studios.
For those who unfamiliar,
Kidaptive creates interactive apps for iPad that combine entertaining videos
and games with a curriculum focused on kindergarten readiness. This company
plans to put the new funds towards hiring, international expansion, and Android
development.
TinyCo (founded in 2009, San
Francisco-based mobile game developer), has raised $20 million in Series B
funding from Pinnacle Ventures and existing investor Andreessen Horowitz. With this funding, TinyCo's will shift to emphasize deeper game play and
higher budget titles. TinyCo has raised $38 million in funding to date.
BrightTag ( founded in 2009, Chicago-based
marketing technology platform ), has raised $27 million in a Series D round led
by Yahoo! Japan with participation from existing investors Baird Capital, EPIC Ventures, 12A, Pritzker Group, and TomorrowVentures.
For those who unfamiliar, BrightTag
offers a tag management solution to help marketers and web analysts make online
data instantly useful in any web or mobile application. BrightTag has raised
$50 million in funding to date and will use the latest capital to accelerate
development of new features.
