Starups fundings: this last 48H, August, ApartmentList, Lytro, Signpost, Yub and Hightail, have raised important resources to boost their growing.

door in terms of fundings.
In this case, August (Founded earlier this year, San
Francisco-based smart lock and access system), has raised $8 million in a
Series A round led by Maveron with participation from Cowboy Ventures, Industry Ventures, Rho Ventures, and SoftTech VC. For those who unfamiliar, this startup enables
homeowners and renters to access their homes or send virtual keys to other via
mobile app. Henceforth August will use the new funding to prepare to start
shipping the
product early next year. August has raised $10 million to date.
ApartmentList (launched in 2011, Silicon Valley-based apartment
search site), has raised $15 million in Series A funding from Matrix Partners, will use the funds to
build out its product, engineering, and sales teams, and expand the reach and
quality of its search service.
Lytro( founded in 2011, Mountain View-based camera technology startup), has
raised $40 million in Series B funding from new investor North Bridge Venture Partners along with previous investors Andreessen Horowitz, New Enterprise
Associates, and Greylock Partners. For those who unfamiliar, Lytro creates
a camera that allows pictures to be refocused after they are taken, and will
use the funds to integrate the technology into smartphones. Lytro has raised
$90 million in funding to date.
Signpost ( founded in 2009, New York-based local marketing software), has
raised $10 million in a Series B round led by OpenView Venture Partners with participation from Spark Capital, Scout Ventures, and wikiHow founder Jack Herrick. Signpost offers an online marketing platform for small businesses to
automate everything from directory and social profile management to customer
acquisition and retention.
Yub (Palo Alto-based online affiliate network), accommodated $12 million
in funding from Atomico, Battery Ventures, DAG Ventures, DFJ Growth, Greylock Partners, Index Ventures, T. Rowe Price, QuestMark Partners, and Visa. For those who unfamiliar, Yub enables retailers and restaurants to track
consumers from online clicks through to actual purchases, harnessing digital
marketing to drive in-store shopping.
Hightail,( YouSendIt )( founded in 2004, Santa
Clara-based file-sharing service ) , has raised $34 million in Series E funding
led by hard drive maker Western Digital with participation from Alloy Ventures, Emergence Capital Partners, Adams Street Partners, and others.
This company plans to use the
new capital to expand its reach in the enterprise market and to fund
international growth. Hightail has raised over $80 million in funding to date.
