AtomCell small cell solution to Improve Network Coverage in Dense Urban Areas: the real value of Huawei.
Even if AtomCell small cell solution remains more or less vulnerable
against attacks, this technology progressively, addresses lots of issues in dense
urban areas. At, Huawei they have adopted an overall strategy to expand the
technology. Connectikpeople.co then observes that, in June 2013, Huawei jointly
won an award with Vodafone Group for AtomCell in the category of “Best
Innovation in Commercial Deployment” at the 2013 Small Cell World Summit in
London. AtomCell has been deployed in Canada,
Spain, South Korea and Mexico.
The new milestone involves China Unicom who has chosen Huawei's AtomCell
small cell solution to improve mobile network coverage in the city of Harbin,
meaning that, network coverage quality for both outdoor and indoor environments
in the deployed areas were greatly enhanced, and China Unicom is henceforth able
to deliver higher data speeds and a more reliable network performance for its
subscribers.
Connectikpeople.co recalls that, China Unicom chose to deploy AtomCell to
address the complexity of providing greater network capacity deep through
multiple walls (that constantly change) and without available space for
additional rooftop sites.
If unfamiliar, we also recall that, AtomCell supports both wired and
wireless backhaul depending on operator needs and AtomCell is a part of
Huawei's SoftMobile. SoftMobile aims to provide ultra-broadband and on-demand
network features.
