Global Movement of Big Data: IBM can now reassure its partners with the acquisition of Aspera.
We are talking about the capabilities that allow
organizations to reduce transfer Time for Large Data Files.
In this ecosystem IBM is paving its way by gathering the essential technologies
required. So following the acquisition of SoftLayer, IBM buybacks, fasp technology with
the goal to help companies securely speed the movement of massive data files
around the world.
Connectikpeole.co recalls that Aspera’s patented fasp™ technology overcomes inherent bottlenecks in broadband wide area networks that slow
the transfer of extremely large files, such as high-definition video or
scientific research files, over
distance.
By combining Aspera with the power of cloud computing, users have a practical way to transport big data files to and from the
cloud. This acquisition is also builds on IBM’s Smarter Commerce initiative by
allowing businesses to accelerate their digital supply chains between partners
and suppliers. In the same dynamic it extends IBM’s market-leading
capabilities in Managed File Transfer with a
complementary set of capabilities to help enterprises further gain control and
oversight of their data transfers.
The acquisition of Aspera is expected to close in the first quarter
2014.
