Startups fundings: Trifacta, Homejoy, Glassdoor, Grokker, Misfit Wearables, and DataSift can henceforth expand internationally and develop new features.



This rubric is intended to help organizations, and investors to live in real-time what happens in the startups world. Regarding the emerging countries, and startups, this is an instrument for them to discover which Venture Capital or Business angel can fund their projects.  

Trifacta ( Founded in 2012, San Francisco-based data computation startup), has raised $12 million in Series B funding led by previous investor Accel Partners and new investor Greylock Partners. This company develops productivity platforms for data analysis and seeks to provide a clean interface for cleaning up, structuring, and organizing data. Trifacta has already raised $16.3 million and will use the latest funds
to build out its technology and expand its user base.

Homejoy (Founded in 2012, San Francisco-based professional home cleaning startup), has raised $38 million in a combined Series A and B round .The Series A round was led by Google Ventures and the Series B by Redpoint Ventures, and First Round Capital, Max Levchin, Oliver Jung, and Mike Hirshland also participated. Homejoy provides professional home cleaning services for $20 an hour, currently available in 30 markets in the U.S. and Canada. The startup has raised nearly $40 million in funding to date.

Glassdoor (Founded in 2007, Bay Area-based jobs and career community), has raised $50 million in a Series E round led by Tiger Global Management with participation from Dragoneer Investment Group and existing investors Benchmark Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Battery Ventures, and DAG Ventures. Glassdoor provides employer ratings, review, and compensation data, and is currently one of the largest talent recruitment platforms in the world with more than 22 million registered members and data on roughly 300,000 companies in 190 countries. Glassdoor has raised over $90 million to date and will put the latest funds towards international expansion.

Grokker (Founded by former eBay and Yahoo! exec Lorna), Borenstein, has raised $5.5 million in a Series A round led by Khosla Ventures with participation from First Round Capital's Josh Koppelman and angel Ron Conway. Grokker aims to provide the best content in cooking, yoga, and fitness videos from chefs and teachers worldwide. The capital will be use to continue building out its content selection and exploring new features to add in 2014.

Misfit Wearables ( Founded in 2001, Redwood City-based wearable sensor technology creator) , has raised $15.2 million in funding from Horizons Ventures along with existing investors Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, Max Levchin, and incTank Ventures. Misfit plans to use the latest funding to work on new products set to launch in 2014. Misfit has raised over $20 million in funding to date.

DataSift (Founded in 2010, Worldwide social data platform), has raised a $42 million Series C round led by Insight Venture Partners with participation from existing investors Scale Venture Partners, Upfront Ventures, IA Ventures, Northgate Capital, and Daher Capital. DataSift provides brands and enterprises with access to content from Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and dozens of other social networks. DataSift has raised nearly $72 million in funding to date and plans to use the new capital to add more data partners and explore additional business opportunities in international markets.
