Startups funding: Flat World Education, AutoGrid, and TigerText can now fund domestic and international expansion.

publishing platform), has raised $9.5 million in a funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from Valhalla Partners, Tribeca Venture Partners, and Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments. Connectikpeople.co recalls that, Flat
World Education designs and enables personalized learning solutions at
scale in order to increase access and lower student costs. Henceforth with these
funds, Flat World Education will expand
its platform and offer an online BBA degree via mobile device
in partnership
with Brandman University.
AutoGrid (founded in 2011, Palo
Alto-based analytics company), has raised $12.75 million in Series C funding
from E.ON, Foundation Capital, and Voyager Capital. This enterprise analyzes data generated by building management systems
and energy meters to monitor where power is going and improve energy use. AutoGrid
has raised over $20 million in funding to date and plans to use the latest
capital to fund domestic and international expansion.
TigerText (
founded in 2010, Santa Monica-based real-time
messaging company), has raised $21 million in a Series B round led by Shasta Ventures with participation from OrbiMed, Reed Elsevier Ventures, and TELUS, as well as existing investors. If unfamiliar, Connectikpeople.co recalls
that, TigerText is a secure, real-time messaging platform for hospitals and
physicians that works on all smartphone platforms. TigerText has raised over
$30 million in funding to date.
