Talking about new applications and technologies in fields such as smart
cities, energy and healthcare, Connectikpeople.co observes that, operators like
Cisco, and IBM are deeply involved in the ways to help organizations, public
sector and enterprises harness the potentialities of Big data, cloud computing,
and analytic.
This week at Connectikpeople.co, we are pleased to discover that, Huawei
has revealed its overall strategy in this field by collaborating with Imperial
College London. In fact, the Imperial College - Huawei Data Science Innovation
Laboratory will bring together experts from across Imperial’s faculties and
Huawei researchers to harness data science research and develop new
applications in fields such as smart cities, energy and healthcare.
To transform this vision into reality, Huawei will invest in cutting-edge
equipment including next-generation cloud computing servers, a research and
innovation fund, and operational costs for the new lab.
Connectikpeople.co recalls that, the announcement of the lab follows the
signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Huawei and Imperial in July
2013, under which both parties agreed to look at opportunities for
collaboration.
Pending, to capture the fruit of this collaboration, a note of 8 out of ten
rewards this vision (develop the next generation of big data technologies for
the benefit of our
society and economy).
Connectikpeople.co is also pleased to observe that, every year Huawei strives
to invest over 10% of its global revenue into R&D. In 2013 about US$5.4
billion, accounting for more than 14% of the revenue, have been deployed.
