Provide personalized services to drivers based on their location and route: SAP and The BMW Group Research pave their way.
The Internet of Thing reserves lots of positive surprises in terms of convenience,
living conditions, relevant access to services and more.
As, a unique objective reference for Organizations and Professionals, when
it comes to tools and solutions to draw value-added in their modern activities,
Connectikpeople.co praises this joint research initiative of SAP and BMW Group
Research and Technology.
We have been seduced by their deep willingness to enrich the driver’s
experience and provide the convenience users expect from a connected and social
world, in or out of the vehicle. Thanks for the Mobile
World Congress 2014, being held February 24-27 in
Barcelona, Spain. Connectikpeople.co recalls that, the research prototype is based on the SAP HANA® Cloud Platform and aims to provide personalized services to drivers based on their location and route.
Henceforth, the cloud-based platform from SAP serves as a link between BMW and external partners that provide services such as parking, fuel, beverages and food. Meaning that, Information from the various partners is aggregated in a virtual marketplace that, in the future, could allow BMW to give passengers and drivers contextualized and personalized offerings via the in-car dashboard or mobile device.
Connectikpeople.co can also observe that, leveraging the BMW Group Research and Technology expertise, SAP has developed a prototype for parking and retail “couponing” use cases. Based on the driver’s profile and vehicle location, the system provides an appropriate space close to the driver’s destination.
