Startups funding: Blaze, Front Desk, and Cheyipai can now expand their services.
If unfamiliar,
Connectikpeople.co recalls that, this rubric is intended to help organizations,
and investors to live in real-time what happens in the startups world; in terms
of funding, acquisitions, strategic alliances and more. Regarding the emerging countries, and startups, this is an
instrument for them to discover which Venture Capital or Business angel can
fund their projects.
Blaze (London-based biking technology startup), has raised
$500,000 in seed funding from Index Ventures and the Branson family. Blaze designs the Laserlight, an intelligent front bike light with
laser projection, with the goal to prevent cycling
accidents. Blaze will begin
shipping the Laserlight in February 2013.
Front Desk ( founded in 2012, Seattle-based business management
platform), has raised $4 million in a Series A round led by Floodgate with participation from existing investors including Second Avenue Partners, Version One Ventures, and Rich Barton. Front Desk provides a SaaS and mobile business management tool that
handles scheduling, payments, and client management for personal services
businesses. Front Desk has raised $7.2 million to date and will use the new
funds to grow its team and tap into the global personal services market.
Cheyipai ( founded in 2009, Chinese used car trading platform), has
raised $50 million from Sequoia Capital with participation from Morningside Ventures, Matrix Partners, and CITIC Capital Holdings. Cheyipai has created a used car detection and valuation system to serve
the nearly 100,000 used car dealers in China. Cheyipai will use the new funds
to partner with a larger percentage of these dealers and optimize user
experience.
