firms, and governments to collect data to track worldwide business and economic
conditions in real-time. Premise has
raised a total of $16.5 million to date and is currently present in
30
countries.
Xapo (in stealth mode for the past
two years, Palo Alto-based bitcoin finance and security startup), has raised
$20 million in new funding from investors including Benchmark, Fortress Investment Group, and Ribbit Capital. Xapo aims to make bitcoin
storage and protection simpler for big banks and individual. This startup will
put the $20 million toward building out and supporting security features.
Layer3 TV (Boston-based next generation cable provider), with the
goal to improve the consumer television experience and spearhead a new era of
home media, Layer3, founded in 2013 by cable veterans Dave Fellows and Jeff
Binder, has raised a $21 million Series A round led by North Bridge Venture Partners and Evolution Media Growth Partners.
