Security alerts regarding the Heartbleed turmoil: Tumblr and PC-BSD have released recommendations.
The Heartbleed’s
turmoil continues to decline the credibility of the NSA, accused (Bloomberg) for
having exploited the Heartbleed flaw for ‘years’ without alerting the affected

If unfamiliar,
Connectikpeople.co recalls that, the Heartbleed vulnerability is a flaw that
may allow a malicious user to gain access to information that is supposed to be
kept safe through OpenSSL.
A set of popular websites which
use the OpenSSL protocol to keep data safe, are more or less affected including
Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Google, Dropbox, Yahoo…and
more.
In this turmoil the
Tumblr team has took action to fix the issue, by recommending you to change your
password, and also consider enabling two-factor
authentication. This action is also recommends for the
rest of the websites affected.
Regarding the
FreeBSD project and PC-BSD, they have both released fixes (OpenSSL Security Update) that will apply
to versions 10.x. After applying the fix reboot your computer.
