Adatao, (Launched in December 2013, a data analytics startup based in Sunnyvale),
has raised $13 million in a Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Lightspeed Ventures and Bloomberg Beta. Adatao is an analytics platform that allows data scientists and business
users to collaborate and view query results in a user-friendly format. Adatao will use the latest cash to
continue building out its pInsights and pAnalytics products.
Edmodo, (Founded in 2008, an education startup based in San Mateo), has raised a
$30 million Series D round led by Index Ventures with participation from Japanese telecom company KDDI. Edmodo began as a free social network for educators but has since
expanded into a marketplace for sharing teaching tools as well as creating and
scoring quizzes. Edmodo has raised
$87 million to date.
