Among our digital critical assets, communications play and will play a major role when it comes to success, go to markets and to fail.

This means that, communications deserve strong, open-source cryptography.  

  

EFF, in collaboration with Julia Angwin at ProPublica and Joseph Bonneau at the Princeton Center for Information Technology Policy, are joining forces to launch a campaign for secure and usable crypto. 

Their Secure Messaging Scorecard examines dozens of messaging technologies and rates each of them on a range of security best practices. 

The campaign focuses on communication technologies, including chat clients, text messaging apps, email applications, and video calling technologies. 

NB: this examination do not guarantees their security; merely indications that the projects are on the right track.
