Nearly $1.154B injected last week in the digital industry: the Private Equity continues its momentum.



Established business models continue to drive excitements among investors who foster more and more , established e-commerce services; bringing a new breathe for expansion.

The Private Equity contributed for almost $242M to finance online food ordering sites; listing site, and more.

Commercial music streaming service, mobile game apps, cloud services, security technologies and the sharing economy have also driven huge amount of funding. 

25M EUR / Venture for Jimdo that enables users to create a website on a computer, smart phone or tablet using a simple intuitive interface.
Investors include: Spectrum Equity.

$25M / Series B for Menlo Security, a stealth cyber security startup, that aims to eliminating the threat of advanced malware by introducing a new security model. Investors include: General Catalyst Partners,  Sutter Hill Ventures, Osage University Partners and others.

 

$110M / Private Equity for Delivery Hero, a network of online food ordering sites with over 73,000 restaurant partners worldwide.

 

$16M / Series B for Swiggy, a curated takeout delivery service based in Bangalore. Launched last year, Swiggy will use the funding to expand to additional Indian cities and scale its network.

Investors include: Accel Partners, Norwest Venture Partners - NVP, and SAIF Partners.

$135M / Series D for Blue Apron, a New York-based meal service that delivers perfectly portioned ingredients and recipes to your home. Founded in 2012, Blue Apron is currently delivery 3 million meals per month.

Investors include: Bessemer Venture Partners, BoxGroup, Stripes Group and others.

 

$129M / Private Equity

PropertyGuru is a Singapore-based property listing site for the real estate market in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. The funding will go toward marketing and further expansion across Southeast Asia.

$20M / Series B for Brit+Co , a lifestyle media company founded by Brit Morin in 2011. The company has raised $27.5M to date.

Investors include: Intel Capital, Liberty Media, Oak Capital and more.

$35M / Venture

High Alpha is a venture studio, based in Indianapolis that will create and fund enterprise cloud companies in-house.
Investors include: Emergence Capital Partners, Hyde Park Venture Partners,  Greenspring Associates and more.

 

 

$526M / Series G for Spotify is a commercial music streaming service, founded in 2006 in Stockholm. Henceforth valued at $8.53B.

Investors include: Goldman Sachs, Northzone, and Technology Crossover Ventures and others. 

 

$2.5M / Equity Crowdfunding

Green Zebra Grocery aims to increase access to fresh and healthy foods through convenient neighborhood stores. It has closed a $2.5M funding round through Circle Up, an equity crowdfunding site.
Investors include: CircleUp.

$10M / Series B for Gogovan , a Hong Kong-based on-demand cargo transportation service for urban areas. Founded in 2013, this startup serves over 70,000 users in multiple parts of Asia, including Korea and mainland China.

Investors include: Zhemin Hu and Joe (Yi-Zhou) Chen.

 

$16M / Series A for La Renon ,a pharmaceutical company Based in Ahmedabad, India, that provides products and services for various critical illnesses and diseases. Investors include : Sequoia Capital.
