Microsoft with its machine learning Computational Network Toolkit , and Baidu with its new artificial intelligence software
The open source trend is now a real momentum within businesses of all sizes and organizations, and within government agencies.
This
impetus grows at the rapid pace across the world; because the stakes are now
well known.
Microsoft
is moving its machine learning
Computational Network Toolkit (CNTK) from its own hosting site,
CodePlex, to GitHub. Henceforth
under the MIT open source license, this move can help developers to collaborate
on building their own deep learning applications using the CNTK.
Baidu
the Chinese web services company is also aware of the stakes and has released a
new artificial intelligence software called WARP-CTC. The code is apparently
capable of speech recognition, particularly for short segments. The source code
available on GitHub uses an
approach called 'connectionist temporal classification'.
