Startups fundings: GymPact, Maxwell Health and Planet Labs can now expand engineering teams and build their products.

GymPact (Founded in 2010, San Francisco-based exercise check-in app), has
raised $1.55 million in seed funding led by Khosla Ventures and Max Levchin. GymPact provides both positive and negative incentives to encourage users
to exercise. GymPact plans to launch a new version of the app on January 1st to
broaden its focus to include eating as well as fitness. The startup has raised
$2.5 million in funding to date.
Maxwell Health ( Founded in 2012, New York-based employee benefits platform ), has
raised $6 million in a Series A round led by Vaizra Investments with participation from Catalyst Heath Ventures and existing investors Tribeca Ventures, Serious Change, Lerer Ventures, BoxGroup, and a
number of angels. If unfamiliar, Connectikpeople.co recalls that, Maxwell
Health provides small and medium businesses with an affordable benefits
management service that easily manages employee health plans, benefits, and
payroll. Maxwell Health has raised $8 million in funding since August of this
year.
Planet Labs (Founded in 2010, San Francisco-based imaging satellite startup), has raised $52 million in
funding led by Yuri Milner with participation from new investors Industry Ventures, Felicis Ventures, Lux Capital, and Ray Rothrock, along with existing investors including DFJ, Founders Fund, and First Round Capital. Planet Labs hopes to revolutionize Earth imaging by introducing
ultra-small satellites, cheaper to make and deploy and able to circle much
closer to the Earth. Planet Labs plans to use the new funds to expand engineering teams and build out
imaging and software.
